Sean Andrew Whelahan, age 55, of East Sandwich, Massachusetts, passed away on October 7th, 2026. He was born on March 5th, 1971 in Attleboro Massachusetts to Andrew and Sarah (McManama) Whelahan. He grew up in Foxborough, Massachusetts and was typically found playing Monopoly with his friends or roaming the nearby Normandy Farms campground. His love for travel was prominent as he explored several countries such as Kenya, Australia, New Zealand and many more. This culminated into the creation of his own tour company, a dream he had held for most of his life. He was an avid “Jaws” and “Wizards of Oz” rewatcher, watching the two whenever he needed a sense of home. He could answer any trivia question you presented him.
"Sean has touched the lives of many, each in a different, meaningful way. He was a loving father, friend, and cat dad. He was a devoted husband to Tara, constantly telling everyone about his love and affection for her. They shared many memories such as their honeymoon in Ireland, or New Years Eve at his parents house. He is remembered as a jokester, making everyone around him belly laugh. He was a successful leader and business owner for ‘6A Tours’ and ‘Kian ‘n Rylee’s’. Sean had the ability to make a room full of strangers become friends. He was viewed as a father figure and mentor to many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Tara; his children, Rylee and Kian; his sisters, Cindy and her husband, Cliff Dunn of Yarmouth, and Kathleen and her fiance, Gregg Pinsky of Harwich; his sister-in-law Deanne Robillard; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Sarah Whelahan; and his brother, Michael Whelahan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sean’s memory to “Heroes in Transition”, https://heroesintransition.org/donate/ or “The Nicholas G. Xiarhos Memorial Fund”, https://secure.givelively.org/donate/veterans-collaborative/ngx-memorial-foundation two organizations that were close to Sean’s heart.
