Sven E. Hanson

Sven E. Hanson of Shrewsbury, formerly of Sandwich, died on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the age of 96. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Cheverfils) Hanson and the son of the late Edward and Hilda Hanson. Born and raised in Worcester, he was a resident of Shrewsbury for most of his life and was the owner of S.E. Hanson & Son Builders for over 40 years. He was an avid sports fisherman, boater and motorcyclist who really enjoyed fast cars and fast bikes.

Survivors include his son, Ronald S. Hanson and his wife Claire of Dennis; his daughter, Carolyn Graves of Worcester; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth A. Fleming and his brother, Carl Hanson.

A visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am on Friday, March 1, 2013 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich. Burial will follow in Sandwich Town Cemetery.
