

He was 78 years old, succumbing after a long battle with vascular dementia.
Born on January 25, 1947, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, to Thomas Masson IV and Marion McKay Masson. In 1956, the family relocated to South Weymouth, Massachusetts.
From 1966 to 1968, Tom served honorably in the United States Navy, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. After a cross-country adventure, he moved to Cape Cod, completed his GED, and went on to earn his Associates Degree at Cape Cod Community College with honors. He married Mary Jane Foley and had a son, Thomas Masson VI, both of El Cajon, Ca. (div. 1982)
Tom shared the rest of his life with his devoted wife of 36 years, Teri L. Pratt-Masson, in Centerville Ma. Together they raised two incredible sons, of whom he was most proud: Kyle Masson of Hyannis Ma, and Taylor Masson of Saugus, MA.
He also leaves behind his sister Zulette Catir and her husband Norman of Providence RI. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Baxter.
He had a deep appreciation for American Indian history and heritage, an interest that manifested into his lifelong passion as a collector of Indian artifacts among many other collections of passing favor. Most trips were centered around the exploration and admiration of the National Parks and reservation sites, especially of the Southwest.
He loved the birds and creatures of his cherished wooded back yard. He was an admirer of all the sixty’s automobiles, music of the 80’s and an avid Boston Sports fan. Tom worked his entire career as an automotive parts manager for a variety of dealerships, most recently, Hyannis Honda until he retired in 2018.
May his memory evoke warm and wonderful recollections to those who knew this gentle soul. A private family Graveside Service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford Connecticut, at a later date.
