Walter Wesley Burkhardt was born in Buffalo, NY on July 10, 1940 to Walter and Kathryn Burkhardt. His family moved to Eden, NY in 1952, where he lived until his marriage to Sandra in 1968. They were wed for 57 years until his passing on May 16, 2025. They had one son, Nathan Burkhardt, who married Katrina in 2013, and one grandson, Wesley.
Walter was an honorable and loyal man who was employed by National Fuel Gas for 38 years, retiring in 1996. A new adventure awaited Walter and Sandra when they moved to Sandwich on Cape Cod after retirement. Walter loved his family and his country in his quiet way.
