Walter Holbrook Reed

Walter graduated from Wareham High School in 1944. He then served his country by enlisting in the Army in 1944. He received a WWII Victory Medal for his service.

He married Alice Fay Karl on September 20th in 1952. To this union two children were born; Karl and Cheryl.

Walter graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in electrical Engineering. He was a electrical engineer for Yankee Atomic. He went back to Northeastern University in 1974 and obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Management.

Walter enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, birding, golf, and airplane kits. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed family gatherings and playing cards. He started running marathons at age 60 and ran 7, the first one in March of 1986.

He was a Mason with the Social Harmony Lodge in Wareham.

Walter is survived by his wife Alice; son Karl and his wife Pam ; daughter Cheryl and her husband Chuck ; 4 grandchildren; Keith and his wife Amanda ; Melissa and her husband Allan ; Ashley; Jason and his wife Courtney ; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Brother-in law Jack Karl and his wife Sheri. Extended family; Mark and Cindy Eaton

Cremation was chosen, and services will be private.
