survived by his wife of 61 years, Sandra (MacDougall), five children, Mark, Andrea
(Borden), Timothy, Christopher, Amy, eight grandchildren, his sister Marie Grant, and 14
nieces and nephews. He was at times a resident of Virginia Beach, VA, Framingham,
MA, and Shrewsbury, MA. His sister Helen (Finley) and brother Francis predeceased
him.
Born in Newton, MA to Timothy C and Helen (Glavine) Sullivan, Wally graduated from St
Sebastian’s School (1952) and Boston College (1956). He served 20 years in the U.S.
Navy, retiring with the rank of Commander. Wally had a long and distinguished career
as manufacturer’s representative of heavy construction products, and he was active in
the industry until his retirement in the late 1990s. Passionate about the underserved and
those without a voice — read Democrat — Wally was involved in local, state, and
national politics throughout his life.
He embodied the very best as a son, uncle, brother, and friend, but Wally was born to
be a dad, and he knew it, loved it, lived it. Most of all, Wally adored his wife. We will miss
him terribly. Oh, and he loved to drive.
