

Albert Hart, Jr., 84, died Friday, October 1, 2010 following a brief illness at Hospice Atlanta. He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Jean McGraw Hart; his daughter, Lanier Hart DeGrella; son, Albert Garon Hart and his wife Candace; son, Keith McGraw Hart and his wife Julianne; grandchildren, Alex Raymond DeGrella and his wife Renae, Adam Joseph Hart, George Hart DeGrella and his wife Haley, Blaine McGraw Hart and Elyse Jean Hart; great-grandson, Eli Ward DeGrella; sister, Doris Sullivan; sister, Johanna Long; brother, Michael Hart; and many other extended devoted family members and caring friends. He was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from University Military School in 1943. Following his military service in the European Theater of Operations he attended Spring Hill College. He subsequently embarked on his career in business with Dunn and Bradstreet that precipitated a move to New Orleans in 1949. He was recruited to join Joel Hurt Factors in Atlanta in 1961 as a vice president. Following the acquisition of Joel Hurt Factors by Citizens and Southern National Bank in 1965, Mr. Hart rose to be selected as president of C&S Commercial Corporation in 1975. He completed the EPBA program at Columbia University in 1974. Under his guidance and determined work ethic the Commercial Corporation grew to become the third largest factoring corporation in the US at the time of his retirement in 1990. He served as a director of both the C&S Commercial Corporation as well as C&S Bank of Dalton from 1975-1990. His spirit of commitment to excellence in his work was highlighted by his compassion for all of those he worked with. His spirit of service to his community and philanthropy provided aid to a multitude of organizations highlighted by Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Saint Pius X High School, and Buckhead Little League. His spirit of dedication to his loving wife Jean and family provided undying love, service, sacrifice, and generosity. Nothing pleased him more than to be with as many family members that could convene for any event at any one time especially when they came to their beloved cabin on the lake. His spirit is truly an example of a life worth living. Following a private burial, a Funeral Mass and celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you consider a donation in his memory to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Hospice Atlanta, or Saint Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.
