Antoinette Marie Vigneault (Dubois), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, with her husband of 52 years, William (Bill) Vigneault, at her side. She was known as Mary to many, but more recently as Tonie to loved ones and friends, and as 'Boo-boo' to her grandchildren.
Tonie was born on August 19th, 1945, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to the late Mr. Eugene Joseph Dubois and Mrs. Antoinette Marie Dubois (Lasonde). She was a lifelong Catholic with a strong parochial school background attending St. Anne’s Catholic School through 8th grade before matriculating to Lawrence High School and later obtaining her GED. She also attended Bryant McIntosh (Junior) College in Lawrence.
Tonie met her husband Bill at Salisbury Beach, MA, in the spring of 1968. They continued her love of beach trips and vacations with family throughout her life.
Tonie loved all children and was called to serve the special needs community where she drove a school bus for over 30 years. Her former students created a special bond with her and would often recognize her later as adults and come up to say “hi” when their paths crossed. Tonie loved serving this community and, in her own words, “they all just needed love and understanding – God bless them!”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Eugene Dubois, her mother who passed during Tonie's childbirth, Mrs. Antoinette Dubois and stepmother, who raised her from a newborn, Mrs. Lillian Dubois (Hamel), her sister, Mrs. Evelyn LaCroix, and brothers Mr. Eugene Dubois and Mr. Louis Dubois. She leaves behind her loving husband, Bill Vigneault of Dunwoody, GA and four adult children, two daughters Kelley LeRoy (Jeff) of Marietta, GA, and Brigette Benoit (Russ) of Fairhaven, MA, and two sons Christopher Gillespie of Irvington, VA, and Stephen Gillespie of Woburn, MA. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren that were the love of her life, Olivia, William, and Owen Benoit, all of Fairhaven, MA, and Jonathan LeRoy of Marietta, GA, as well as nieces and nephews.
Tonie will be remembered for her love for her family, her grace, patience, love for children, the calm, peaceful sunsets at the beach and Boston sports teams – GO PATRIOTS!
The family will have a private service at a later date. If so inclined, we ask that you consider donating to either or both, the American Heart Association and/ or The Cottage School in Roswell, GA.
