Audrey Jean Lowe, 67, Atlanta, Ga. passed away on October 30, 2018 from a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of Jean's life will be held at H.M Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel on Monday November 5th at 2:00 PM and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. After the service, friends are invited to gather at Southern Bistro (formerly Nancy G's) to share memories of her life.
Jean was born in Auburn, Alabama to the late Max and Annie Francis Howard. She is survived by her sister, Maxanne Griner of Scottsbluff, NE, niece Jennifer Skavdahl of Marsland, NE, and nephew Brett Griner of Scottsbluff, NE and cousin Jimmy Smith of Dothan AL. She is also survived by her sisters at the ΑΟΠ Sorority and many loving friends.
Jean graduated from Auburn University in 1973 from the Raymond J Harbert, College of Business with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. She was devoted to Auburn University and in recent years established the Jean Howard Lowe Endowed Scholarship Fund. She was a loyal Auburn football fan and could be found on Saturdays attending games with her AU family or watching from afar from the comfort of her home shouting War Eagle!
Post graduation, she excelled in business sales at Xerox and Oracle. Jean took an early retirement to travel and explore the world. She eventually planned group cruises and land tours, under the name of Jean Lowe Travel. Each year beginning in 2010 she coordinated The Annual Fall Weekend with her friends. She loved the arts and attended many cultural events around the Atlanta area. She lived life to the fullest and surrounded herself with many friends that made her laugh and feel loved.
