

Barbara, (Bobbie) Porter Garner, 97, of Atlanta and Decatur Georgia, peacefully passed away on April 24, 2026. Bobbie was born on January 4,1929 in Orlando, Florida, where she resided until her marriage to Frank Garner and moving to Atlanta.
Bobbie was always active in her church community; First Presbyterian in Atlanta, where she served as President of the women of the church, Big Canoe Chapel and Decatur Presbyterian Church. Bobbie and Frank were very active in the Chapel at Big Canoe, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She treasured the many friendships she had there.
Bobbie was also a member of The Junior League of Orlando and Atlanta. She and Frank were early members of The Friendship Force and enjoyed traveling the world.
Bobbie was devoted to her family and loved holiday gatherings. She and Frank shared their love of travel with all of us and even took each grandchild on individual trips to many destinations.
In Bobbie’s later years, she lived at Clairmont Place where she was very active and developed many friendships.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jane Ann Jarvis, (Chuck) and Allison Rollins, (Chet), ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and four nieces. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and two sons, Richard and Steve.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will take place on Sunday, May 10th, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Clairmont Place 1800 Clairmont Lake, Decatur, GA 30033. A Reception will immediately follow at the same location.
