Bess Patterson Hewell, 91, of Atlanta, GA passed away February 28, 2012. Mrs. Hewell was a charter member of St. James UMC in Atlanta and was a graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. Mrs. Hewell and her husband Cliff were longtime members of the Cherokee Town and Country Club. She was born in Argyle, GA to the late S.C. and Bessie Steakley Patterson. Mrs. Hewell was preceded in death by her loving husband Cliff Hewell and her sister Mary Love Avriett. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ellenda and Milton Bell of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Melanie Bell, Marshall Bell, and Mark Bell. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 2, 2012, at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon until 12:45 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
