

Buddy grew up in Knoxville, where he attended University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He traveled throughout the United States, where he held several sales management positions before moving to Atlanta in 1961. Buddy was a member of the Rotary Club of Buckhead, as well as being the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Atlanta Peachtree. He was instrumental in founding the Good Ole Boys charitable organization, which assists needy children during the holidays. He was an executive at Rollins Services for many years before venturing out and building his own organization, Allen Services. Buddy was an entrepreneur and greatly enjoyed the business world, where he was quite successful for many years. He was a long time active member of Mount Paran Church of God.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to The Rollins Pavillion nurses of Emory University Hospital, where Buddy was hospitalized several times, and to his long-time physician and friend: Dr. Steve Clements. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to his caregivers: Renee, Gloria and Monica.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael Allen and Linda Allen, grandson Dawson and granddaughter Courtney of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by his daughter, Alexandra Allen, grandson Marcus Nazario and granddaughter Alexis Barnes, of Atlanta. Other surviving family members include his sister-in-law Paula Peatross Moore and niece Amy Moore Laroway, of Atlanta. He is predeceased by his wife of 23 years, Margaret Peatross Allen, and he will be laid to rest beside her. Lastly, Buddy is survived by a multitude of friends who cared very much about him. He was a truly great man who will be remembered by many.
The family will receive friends Monday evening Dec 20 from 6-8PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, Arlington Chapel, located at 173 Allen Road in Sandy Springs, 404-851-9900. Funeral services will be held at Mount Paran Church of God Tuesday Dec 21, at 2:00 p.m., graveside services immediately following at Arlington Memorial Park phone: 404-255-0750.
