Carolyn Maureen Fuller, born Bright, came into this world in Boston, Massachusetts on October 25, 1944 — and from that day forward, every room she entered was changed by her presence. Known to those who adored her as Bright Light, she carried that name honestly: radiant, warm, and impossible to forget. She passed peacefully on August 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of fierce love, extraordinary strength, and a smile that could stop a stranger in their tracks.
She was the beloved wife of David R. Fuller, her partner of sixty years. Together they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and the kind of love that holds a family together through everything. They raised their five children — Peter, John, Laura, Susan, and Tim — at Crowbrook Farm, their dairy goat farm in Montgomery, Massachusetts, where Carolyn made cheese, fudge, and ice cream from scratch, tended and canned her own garden, and kept household records so meticulous they would put most professionals to shame. A talented seamstress and devoted knitter, she scrapbooked the family's memories with creativity and intention, ensuring nothing and no one would ever be forgotten. She did all of it with her sleeves rolled up, her humor intact, and her quiet determination leading the way — resilient in the face of whatever life asked of her, and gracious in how she answered.
Carolyn was a woman of remarkable breadth. She competed in dressage on her beloved horse, Benz a'Far, channeling the same focused grace she brought to everything she pursued. She traveled to Paris with David and to Scotland with her daughter Susan. She managed an apartment in Florida with characteristic precision and a generous spirit. Raised in the Catholic faith, she held her belief in God not as a habit but as a compass — one that guided her steps until her very last day.
What lit her up? Her children. And her grandchildren — oh, how those children lit her up. She was the kind of grandmother who made every grandchild feel like the most important person in the room, loved without condition, celebrated without reservation, and held close regardless of the miles between them. Her horses. And Elvis Presley, always and without apology.
Scared yet alive. Tough yet tender. Cheeky and funny in ways that would catch you off guard and make you love her twice as much for it. Carolyn was resilient through seasons that would have bent most people, and gracious in her hardest moments — showing up with dignity and devotion even when it cost her dearly. She held strong convictions alongside a generous heart and never felt the need to choose between them. To know her was to feel genuinely seen, not because of anything she said, but because of the complete attention she gave to the people she cared for.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, David R. Fuller; her children Peter A. Fuller, John D. Fuller, Laura A. Fuller, and Susan E. Bharadwa; her beloved son-in-law Anil Bharadwa; her grandchildren Dilan A. Bharadwa, Jaiman J. Bharadwa, Emily Grace Fuller, Harrison J. Fuller, Samantha A. Fuller, Suha E. Fuller, Kayla Gabbert, and Talia C. Parsoff-Barro; and her dear brother, George A. Bright, who walks forward carrying a piece of her with him. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Scott Recchia, Deborah Gagnon, Christine MacArthur, Brendan Bright, and Katie Chapman.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Fuller, who left us in June 2021, and by her beloved sister, Linda Mary Bright, who departed far too soon in February 1967. She is reunited now with those she never stopped loving.
A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. A Reception followed the service at the church.
A graveside service of committal will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Montgomery Community Church, 161 Main Street, Montgomery, MA 01085. Following the service, Pastor Howard Noe will lead family and friends to the Montgomery Cemetery, where Carolyn will be laid to rest beside her beloved son, Timothy Fuller. A small reception will follow at the church.
