This is Royal Carson, III. - Dallas, TX.  I am Chan's second cousin. My mother, Emily Elisabeth (Betty) Kelly Carson, was Chan's first cousin who also lived in Atlanta.   I grew up in Oklahoma City and when I was 7-12 years old would spend my summers with my grandparents in Atlanta (Piedmont Circle).  My Grandfather, Edward Spence Kelly was Chan's Fathers (Julian Kelly) Brother.  Chan was six years older than me.  Even as a child he was kind and very easy to be friends with even at those awkward ages.  One of the most meaningful gestures was when i was visiting my Grand Parents (on my own).   Chan made be feel like I belonged when he offered me his bike to ride while I was there to get around the neighborhood.  I've never forgotten that.  So, thank you Chan.  I hope you are still saving that bike for me....  Love, Royal

Chan Kelly is my 3rd Cousin.  His Father, Julian Kelly, and my Grandfather,  Ed Kelly were brothers.  

With Chan and his Brother, Scrib living in Georgia and Florida and my family living in Oklahoma and Texas it was difficult to get together.  But when our parents and grandparents and our great grandmother were living we would come to Atlanta and had a really good relationship.

Chan and I are only 6 years apart, so when I would come to Atlanta as a kid we would spend time together and he would loan me his bike so I could get around the neighborhood and not be bored.

Chan always had a smile on his face and a mellow personality.  He loved his family and was proud of his heritage.

Chan will be missed but he will always be remembered.  We need more Chan Kelly's in this world.
