Charles Matthew “Chuck” Heitzman passed away in the early morning hours of November 2, 2015 of natural causes. Chuck played bass guitar in the house band at The Buckboard for many years. A talented musician, he loved his country music family and was proud of his work in entertainment. He continued to play gigs with his bandmates around Atlanta until his health declined. Chuck loved the Atlanta Braves and Falcons. He will be remembered for his big personality, great sense of humor and many musical talents. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, John V. (Vincent) Heitzman and Emma Marguerite (Marge) Heitzman; sisters, Mary Rita Rhino and Martha Jean Heitzman; nieces, Christine M. Rhino and Kelly A. Rhino; and nephew, Robert Rhino. He is survived by his sister, Virginia A. Heitzman Harrison; nieces, Jean Marie Harrison (Bob Geer) and Jennifer Cardin (Brian); great nephew, Joshua D. Cardin; cousin, Patricia Gray (Roy); and his loyal friend and bandmate, Art Hoge. The family would like to thank the staff of US Renal Care of Calhoun for their compassionate care. The family will have a private service at a later date.
