

Mr. Charles Elmer Whitt, age 84, of Clarkesville, Ga., loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather died Sunday morning, the 21st of October, 2012. His wife of 4 years, Earline Whitt; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Kathi Whitt of Augusta, Dennis and Julie Whitt of Clarkesville, Cody and Teresa Whitt of Brentwood, TN; sister, Beverly Moreland of McDonough; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Wendy Whitt of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren and their spouse’s Brittany and Kyle Langford, Jenny and Mark Rockett, Jane Whitt, Austin Whitt, Ryan Whitt; and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Langford survive him. Charles had a very successful career in sales with Georgia Power, Travelers Insurance, Bramco Poultry Equipment, Kemper Insurance Agency, and Watts Publishing Company. Charles was an outstanding 4 sport athlete at the legendary Boys High in Atlanta and earned a football scholarship to Georgia Tech. He was very proud of being President of Clearwater High School Athletic Booster Club in Clearwater, FL with over 500 members as well as President of a Boys High Alumni group which awarded an annual academic scholarship to a deserving high school athlete in the state of Georgia. Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, the 25th of October at one o’clock at Arlington Chapel. Reverend Scott Downing of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta will officiate. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Mr. Charles Elmer Whitt’s name be directed to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 4th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
