Charles Nathaniel Worthen, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away July 20, 2025 at the age of 64. He was born February 1, 1961 to Albert Lewis Worthen , Jr. and Marion Loweth Worthen. He graduated from Marist School and attended The University of Georgia, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. After college, he started a career in commercial real estate and eventually established his own company, Worthen Development.
Charlie was a devoted and loving father to his two children. He cherished them and their circle of friends, who were always welcome at his home or on the boat. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert L. Worthen, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Marion L. Worthen, his sister, Wendy W. Elliott (Bob), his son, A. Welles Worthen, and his daughter, A. Henley Worthen and his niece, Emily L. Elliott.
We will remember Charlie for his sense of humor, strong work ethic and irreverent dance moves. He made friends easily wherever he traveled. He loved real estate and chasing the deal, as well as a pretty single woman! If he wasn’t racing the red Donzi across the waters at Lake Lanier, you could find him with his head under an engine, restoring an old wooden boat or vintage car. He never sat still.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate Charlie’s life will be held on July 30, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Kellett Chapel at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road NW, Atlanta, Georgia. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the lobby of Kellett Chapel. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the service at Chastain Horse Park, 4371 Powers Ferry Road NW, Atlanta, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to: The American Heart Association or The Heart Foundation.
