
David Dwyer Bishop passed away Tuesday afternoon April 29, 2025. while in residential hospice care in the (ATLANTA) Sandy Springs Center for Nursing and Healing. He was born in Dayton Ohio March 15, 1952 to George and Fran Bishop. He spent most of his adult life in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated from John Marshall Law School. He was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in 1994. He then worked within Georgia’s Cobb County Defender’s Office until his retirement.
Survivors include one older brother, Kenneth W. Bishop (Debbie), The Villages, FL, as well as two nieces, Debbie Worthington of Apollo Beach, FL, and Cindy Flynn (Patrick) of Atlanta, GA. David is also survived by two great nieces in Atlanta: Savannah (Nick) Gagne and Wendi Worthington and one great nephew, Brian Worthington. David was preceded in death by his parents, George and Fran Bishop, younger brother Martin Dwyer Bishop, Niece Wendi Bishop and his Aunt Ann Dwyer.
H. M. Patterson & Son -Arlington Chapel in Sandy Springs, Georgia and Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in Farmer City, Illinois are in charge of arrangements. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 at The Lynwood Park Church. 1424 Windsor Pkwy NE Brookhaven, GA 30319 beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Farmer City, Illinois.
