Denise Bakhos Kearney, 83, of Douglasville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2024. She was born on June 17, 1941, in Beirut, Lebanon, to Antoine Khakil Bakhos of Beirut Lebanon, and Adel Sipos Bakhos of Budapest, Hungary. Denise was a loving mother, husband, and the most exceptional friend. Those who knew and loved her will surely recall all the times Denise invited her friends and loved ones to her home for dinner every Sunday where she had prepared an abundance of food, usually cuisine from her native Lebanon (she was a wonderful cook), or when they would see Denise pulling into their driveway with plates food and other delicacies, she had carefully prepared. During the week, one would often find Denise at the Senior Center in Douglasville playing cards with her friends. A devoted Catholic, Denise was a Christian and a thoughtful person through and through who loved everyone. She may have been "spicy", as some people would say, but she gave her heart and her love to all.
Denise is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Mr. David W. Kearney, her sons Antoine S Kearney and his spouse Kevin Jarrell, and Joseph C Kearney and his spouse, Mirna Kearney, and her granddaughter Isabella "Bella" Kearney. She is also survived by many family members still residing in Beirut, Lebanon, Budapest, Hungary, and Clés, Italy.
The Funeral Mass for Denise will be held on July 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, 6025 Glenridge Dr, Atlanta, GA 30328.
Whether it be with flowers, a donation to the church, an outreach to her family, or your thoughts and prayers, her family thanks everyone for honoring and celebrating her life.
A special service will be held at a later date to be announced at St. Theresa Catholic Church of Douglasville where she attended and was a member.
