Don,  Thank you for being you.  You and your family were a big part of my life when I was younger and I'll forever remember all the amazing memories...my big catfish catch, the carved wooden pumpkin you made for our Halloween haunted house, Easter egg hunts, etc.  Your home was always warm and loving with so many laughs just like you.  My deepest sympathy to Ann, Donna, and Susan.  Love you all.

Anne Susan and Donna. I just heard about Don. My prayers are with all of you  I have so many fond memories of him. He invented the word laugh and happy. He always showed how much he loved you all. I love you   Paula. Michael. Jessica. and Sean

I remember Don for his humor and wood-working talents,but mostly for his great love for Anne and his girls.  I also appreciate his compassion.  Several years ago when my husband passed away unexpectantly, Don came to my home and made sure my doors and windows were secure.  His work remains today.  He also brought beverages daily so I had enough for my out-of-town guests. He was very kind.  I miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family in this hard time.  Don is in a wood working shop that is forever big now.  May he rest in peace.

Don, you have been a great friend over the 26 years we have known each other.. I will dearly miss your company, ever present smile and positive outlook on life. Your complete dedication and love for your family has always been inspirational. You will be missed more than you could imagine.

There are no words to express how sorry we are to hear of the passing of "Mr. Don."  Cole has many fond memories of the stories that Mrs. Risteen would share in his third grade class. May your memories of him lift you up and guide you at this time. Feel better in knowing that this wonderful man is in the arms of the angels now. May he Rest In Peace.

No one has made me laugh more and live more than you Don. You have left us all with an amazing legacy...even for "just the Risteens."

We are so happy that you are at peace now Don and no longer suffering.  You were always like a 2nd dad to me and I knew that I was your favorite little jewish princess.  Thank you for all the love, laughter and memories you have left us all with.  May you rest in peace now.

Ali and I are so sad about Don - my memories of him are always related to what project he was working on and the new ideas he came up with for building things. He was a great guy and will certainly be missed. Prayers for you and your family. Love Linda & Ali Nicholson

Don, you were the best father and husband I ever had the pleasure of meeting.  I hope there is a special library with your book of jokes.
