Dorothy Tribble Pirkle

Dorothy Tribble Pirkle, 90, born Feb., 19, 1924, longtime resident of Sandy Springs died June 30, 2014. One of ten children by Dr. & Mrs. P. W. Tribble, Sr., raised in Cumming, GA. Dottie is survived by daughter, Marsha Pirkle Webb and adored son-in law, Gregory B. Webb, beloved granddaughter, Shana Webb Pasas and husband John, and a multitude of family members. She was baptized in 1936 at Friendship Baptist, the family church. She graduated from Cumming High School in 1941 with a 98 average and Greenleaf College in 1943. Dottie married the late Marshall F. Pirkle on Feb. 5, 1945, wearing a “dressmaker model powder blue dress and pill box hat with sequins”. She began her career at Lederle Laboratories in the 1940s and Lockheed in the 1950s. Dottie ended her hotel career as Corporate Secretary for Noble Inns, Atlanta. She retired from four other positions. She was a member of Roswell Baptist Church, loved the Braves, travel and was Command Central for her family. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 and service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 3:00 pm at H. M. Patterson & Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, Sandy Springs, GA, 30328. Donations in Dottie’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 250 Williams Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303.
