

Elizabeth S. Martin, nee Elizabeth Ann Starr, age 86 of Atlanta, Ga. passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Born and raised in Dalton, Georgia, “Bunny” as she was known to family and friends was the youngest of three children born to Dr. Trammell and Annie Louise Starr. She attended Ward-Belmont College in Nashville and the University of Georgia where she met her husband William H. Martin. She and Bill, happily married for 68 years, were members of Northside United Methodist Church and Cherokee Town & Country Club for over 60 years. Bunny, a true Southern lady, was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend touching the lives of many. She loved life as a homemaker, the many journeys around the world with her family, her garden club and volunteer work. However, her true joy was the time spent at Lake Lanier and Lake Burton with her children and grandchildren. Bunny was preceded in death by her husband Bill and is survived by her two sons, William H. Martin Jr. and Richard S. Martin; daughters in law, Lee Ann Duggan Martin and Suzanne Ward Martin; grandchildren, William Matthew Martin, Kelly Ann Wallach and her husband, Davy, Katherine Frances Martin, Richard Starr Martin, Jr. and Charles Ward Martin. Visitation with the family will be held at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs from 12:30 - 1:30, Friday January 9, 2015 with 2:00 services following at the Sunrise Chapel at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Hwy, NW, Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to Northside United Methodist Church, 2799 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30305.
