Jean was laid to rest in the Louisville Georgia Cemetery beside her husband, Roger L. Gamble V, in the Gamble family plot.
Jean was born in Norman Park, GA on September 17th, 1929, the daughter of Emma Jane Phelps and Robert Arthur Hunnicutt. Jean was the eighth sibling of nine children.
Jean was a loving daughter, caring and devoted wife and mother. She received her bachelor's degree from Georgia State University and spent a lifetime learning and seeking additional knowledge. She was always willing to listen to another point of view but kept current on world and political affairs to be able to articulate her point of view to others as well. She was an avid golfer at Cherokee Country Club and winner of many local women’s tournaments. She also had opportunities to play golf on her travels around the world with her husband. Jean enjoyed sharing travel stories from Europe, Asia, and South America as well as US and Canadian locales. Jean was a marvelous cook and gracious entertainer.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Gamble, of Atlanta.
