

Kenneth Franklin Hardin (“Frank”) passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the age of 79 in Atlanta, GA due to natural causes. He was born February 20, 1932 in Cedartown, Georgia and was the only child of Vera and Jefferson Davis “JD” Hardin. Frank graduated from Cedartown High School and then attended Auburn University to study Chemical Engineering. He later moved to Atlanta and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank while he attended Georgia State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1958. While in school, Frank served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Frank met his wife, Norma Dickson Hardin, in Atlanta, and they married in 1955. Frank worked for Ford Motor Company for 34 years in various capacities, but he spent a majority of his time working in Dealer Development traveling to Ford dealers across the Southeast. Frank suffered a stroke in 1995, and through his determination, dedication and strong will, he lived 16 more years enduring hardships and difficulties but never complaining and always focusing on the positive things in life. Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma Dickson Hardin of Atlanta, GA; daughters Cheryl Hardin of San Francisco, CA and Lisa Hardin of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Kevin Born of Greenville, SC and Kristen Born of Hendersonville, TN; two nephews Steve and Kirk Stewart; and their families.
