Gary Donald Farley, 78, of Sandy Springs died peacefully in his home on July 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Nothing was more important to Gary than his love of family. He was a joy in the lives of everyone he met for his kindness, patience and genuine interest in others.
Born in McCarr, KY, Gary graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1964 and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1966 with a master’s degree.
Gary was an entrepreneur and problem solver with a brilliant mind for business. He loved the University of KY sports, especially basketball, about which he could talk for hours.
Gary is survived by his mother, Marie; his beloved wife, Martha “Mandy”; his five children, Kimberly (Tony), Robin (Rod), Shane (Susan), Chance (Sharon) and Celene (Bill); his sisters Debbie and Carolyn, brother, Roger (Sharon), and sister-in-law, Agnes. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, brother, Bruce, nephew, Jeff, and mother-in-law, Bunny.
A graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Weinstein Hospice, 3150 Howell Mill Road, NW, Atlanta, GA 30327.
