George’s history as an Atlanta native, coupled with his genuine and gregarious personality, meant he nurtured a wide-reaching network of friends and acquaintances for his full lifetime. George is remembered for his generosity, caring, gentleness, friendship, good-natured humor, leadership, and ability to bring people together.
George grew up in the Peachtree Hills neighborhood attending R. L. Hope, Garden Hills Elementary, and The Westminster Schools (class of 1960). George initiated luncheons for his Westminster class, started a men’s golf group, organized many events for friends, family, and special guests, and was a regular at Cross Creek Cafe and The White House restaurant. He supported Karen and Erin through multiple degrees and proudly watched them achieve success in their careers.
