George Benjamin Pennington a native of Atlanta died October 8, 2013. Mr. Pennington was born on June 11, 1926 and was the son of George Anthony Pennington and Ida Holloway Pennington. He was a graduate of Boys High School and also Georgia Tech. He had a long and distinguished career as a Certified Public Accountant with George A. Pennington and Company. Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife of 57 Years, Marge Pennington; daughter and son-in-law, Marguerite and Bill Gould; sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Cathy Pennington, Charles and Susan Pennington; grandchildren, Jeremy Pennington, Mary Slade Pennington, Marguerite Pennington and Catherine Pennington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 1687 Tullie Circle, Atlanta, GA 30329, www.choa.org. Funeral services will be Friday, October 11, 2013 at 12 o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel with Dr. Albert E. Clarke officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
