The life that graced this world so beautifully now shines bright and new in Heaven. On June 24th, 2026, Gwendolyn (Gwen) went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior. Her journey through life left footprints of kindness, love, compassion, humor, and most importantly, faith. She was a continuous example of Christian service and used her God-given musical talents to play the piano in church services, Sunday school classes, weddings, and nursing homes. In addition to her musical talents, she was a gifted painter and chalk talk artist. For 17 years, she was a Christian chalk talk artist and presented programs for secular groups as well as in churches.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Gwen met her husband Dale while attending Calvin College in her hometown, and they married in 1947. She is survived by three children: Debra Schumm of Raleigh, NC; David Grevengoed of Atlanta; and Beth Rusnack of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many well-loved nieces and nephews. Gwen’s greatest joy was filling her home with family and friends. She leaves a legacy of faith and unconditional love.
