Hazel Anderson Johnson went to be with her Heavenly Father on the afternoon of October 23, 2013. Mrs. Johnson was born in Woodland, Alabama on March 23, 1929, but spent most of her adult life in the Sandy Springs and Atlanta area. She attended the Atlanta branch of the University of Georgia and graduated from the Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing. Hazel served others for over 50 years as a Nurse both in private duty and served as the Head Nurse of the Recovery Unit at Piedmont Hospital. Additionally, she was a member the Piedmont School of Nursing Alumni Association and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atlanta. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Samuel Wesley Johnson Jr., her daughter in law, Luann Johnson, and her granddaughter, Amelia Johnson. Other survivors include brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2013, followed by a service at 3:00 pm at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, 3180 Peachtree Rd., NE in Atlanta.
