Henrietta was born on September 04, 1941 in Brewton, Alabama to Lawrence Levy and Alice Morrell Levy. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Combs.
She is survived by her husband Tom Prescott, Sr.; sons, Gregory Bischoff and Douglas Bischoff; step-sons, Tom (Jane) Prescott, Jr., Glenn Prescott and partner, Woody Griffith; grandsons, Trey Prescott, Alex Prescott and Austin Prescott. She is also survived by her loving cousin, Vel (Ernie) Bush and family.
Henrietta was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She moved to Dunwoody in 1985 to begin a new life with Tom. She was soon to be recognized as a top Real Estate Agent in the Dunwoody North Atlanta area in a career that lasted over 20 years receiving numerous awards and professional recognitions for her success. She retired from her Real Estate career in 2005.
Henrietta was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2014 and told that she had 6 months to live. Her response was “I can do better than that”. She chose to receive alternative and conventional treatments at the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Playas de Tijuana, Mexico, a Catholic faith based hospital founded in 1956 that treats patients worldwide. While her treatments were at the Oasis of Hope Hospital, Emory Winship Cancer Institute and Saint Joseph Hospital provided all monitoring, testing and local medical support in Atlanta. Henrietta turned her “6 months” into 42 months of a quality pain free life, a rare experience for someone with pancreatic cancer.
A special thanks to the Doctors at the Oasis of Hope Hospital, Dr. Francisco Contreras, MD and Dr. Juan Francisco Cecena, MD for giving her “hope when she had none”.
Also the Emory Winship Cancer Institute, Saint Joseph Hospital’s Dr. Stephen Szabo, MD and staff for their extraordinary care of Henrietta.
Atlanta Hospice and the Synergy Personal Care Givers provided exceptional loving care to Henrietta over the last month, they are truly special people.
A Celebration of Life Service for Henrietta will be held at Dunwoody Baptist Church, 1445 Mount Vernon Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338 on Saturday May 5th. Family Visitation will begin at 2 PM with the Service at 3 PM followed by a reception at the Church.
