Finally, he completed a two-year fellowship in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery from Washington University – Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He started his Thoracic Surgery practice in Atlanta with Drs. William Hopkins and Newton Turk, and later with Drs. Ken Thomas, Nestor Carbajal and Rod Cabezas. He also had an amazing ability to accurately diagnose conditions that were missed the first or even second time. Howard was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Hoosiers and the Braves. He loved traveling, jogging, reading, foreign films, and golf, although golf was more of a love-hate relationship. A memorial service will be held for Dr. Brown at H.M.
