James Herbert Carver, 92, of Atlanta, GA died Saturday, October 16, 2010. Mr. Carver survived Pearl Harbor and had a long and dedicated career in the U.S. Air Force that lasted 24 years. He received a Good Conduct Medal with 5 bronze loops, a National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 bronze oak leaf clusters. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 13 years of service. He was predeceased by his wife Nelle Lanier Carver. He is survived by his daughter, Ida Carver; granddaughter, Amber Goody; sisters, Carrie Evelyn Denney of Carrollton, GA, Ophelia Mouchette of Jessup, GA and Frances Garban of Atlanta, GA; and nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Wieuca Road Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
