I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the family, especially Mrs. Caswell. I assisted them in their move many years ago. They both were such wonderful kind people.

I regret hearing about "Jimmy" Caswell's death. I am a first cousin, once removed, as best I can figure it. My grandmother was Ruth Caswell Stubbs, my Uncle Marvin's sister. My mother was Virginia Stubbs Kerr, Jimmy's first cousin. 
My wife, Patricia, and I were surprised and grieved to see the obituary in the paper. We are active members of Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist here in Atlanta and just recently our friend and fellow church member, Joe Anderson, was telling me about being with James Caswell on a trip. Joe was amazed to learn about Willy, GA. My wife and I moved back to Atlanta about 20 years ago after a career with the DuPont Company. I regret not meeting with James  Caswell personally. My mother passed away in the early '70"s but I shared the obituary with her two surviving siblings, Rex and Ann.
I will always remember Uncle Marvin and the Gordon Potato Chip gifts he would send at Christmas to my Grandmother Ruth. I first noticed James Caswell, Jr. on the plaques at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. He must have been a truly fine and obviously successful man.

Jim Caswell was a critically important mentor in my life. I was a young punk toiling away first as a lawyer at Mayer Brown and then as a struggling investment banker at White Weld working with Jim and his Piedmont Center team to structure and finance Piedmont Buildings 1-4. I learned an immense amount from Jim -- not just abou real estate development and investing but about life.  I ended up investing and becoming a small $$ amt partner with Jim. There is no doubt whatsoever that my career and whatever success i have had in my real estate career has been significantly influenced and turbo-charged by what I learned from Jim. Tough but always on the measage and never on the messenger. Jim treated everyone fairly.  Jim was deliberate but with a decided bias toward action. Jim kept his cards close to his chest but when he played his cards he did so with conviction and with a major dose of all-in engagement. Jim was a quiet man but you never failed to notice his presence and power when in a room with him. The real estate industry has lost a giant   The Caswell family has lost a father, grandfather and husband. I have lost a mentor who made a decided difference in my life. Greg Mutz

Mr. James M Caswell, Jr. was one of A Kind! I know first hand his philosophy as individual was through Trust, respect, and establishing Long Term Relationships for Personal, Charitable, and Business. Piedmont Center was Barton Protective Services Inc first account in 1978. When sold in 2004 we were still doing business.
My wife Catherine, and I are sadden @ his death, but know Jim made the world a better place in every way. Our prayers and condolences to Family. God Bless!

Such a business leader! A huge loss for Buckhead and Atlanta.  I remember meeting him as an investor in Piedmont Center as it was getting off the ground.  First class all the way.  A person any man should want to emulate--always humble and understated with unquestionable integrity.  Jim had a significant impact on my life as I was able to get to know him personally and do business with him for some 30 years or more.  Jim was a man who made a difference.  Thanks Jim and RIP.

It was a true privilege to work for Mr. Caswell as Beck's project manager on several projects at Piedmont Center. He made me so much better as a manager and was very supportive to me in my career.  I knew at the time that I was working for a very special man and I know it even more today.  He had this grin that let you know he knew exactly what was going on irregardless of the circumstances. I am blessed to have gotten to know Mr. Caswell who was always so humble and kind.  I pray that his family and friends find comfort in knowing he enjoyed such a full life with tremendous class, honor and respect.

What a full & fascinating, blessed life he lived.  I know he is missed terribly, but what a legacy he has left behind.  That is a gift! My love to & prayers for you all.

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

Mr. Caswell, along with Mrs. Caswell, were rocks of stability for me, at a time I thought my whole world was crumbling.  It may seems like an everyday routine event, but to me, riding my banana seat/tall handlebar 3 speed bike, while the two of them walked, every summer evening, down Tanglewood to Jett Road to North Island, up Rebel Trail to Mt. Paran and back down Jett, with my dog, Boris, running ahead, was a daily event that gave me a feeling of security and love.  I have always treasured these memories.  Mrs. Caswell, Jim, Charlie, Tommy, Lee, Lynda and Holly - I am sending my thoughts and prayers and love to you all.

The Caswell family will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Mathis family.  We will dearly miss Mr. Caswell, and we are keeping Mrs. Caswell and every family member in our prayers.  May you find comfort in your happy memories of such a wonderful man.  And, may God give you peace as you rest in the knowledge that Mr. Caswell is rejoicing in Heaven forever!

Mr. C, we will miss you. A great man, a great listener who spoke only truth with gracious words. To all of Mr. Caswell's family, my you find comfort in knowing that Mr. C enriched my life and countless others, I feel blessed to have shared in knowing him.

Mr.Caswell was great person to work for and an even better person.

A great man has passed.  The definition of a great man is the legacy he leaves through his family, friends, and community.  Mr. Caswell exemplifies that image.  May he rest in peace.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Caswell family.  May God bless and sustain them during this challenging time.

My Uncle Jimmy was a bigger than life figure!!!  He would light up a room when he entered! He was able to tease you in a way that let you know not only that he was keeping track of what you were doing in your life but that he loved you as well. When my father, his brother Billy, died Jimmy took over an important role in the lives of my mom and siblings and I will always love and appreciate him for his kindness. He will be missed  but never forgotten...

I am saddened to hear that Mr C has passed away. I met Mr C when I went to work at PC in 1989. He was a fair and generous man to work for. I have many memories of him but I will always remember him saying that my tombstone would say "She made good tea" and of course his compassion when I lost my brother. God speed Mr C!
