Janice Dell Alexander, 87, passed away on October 11, 2026. Born June 23, 1939, in Atlanta, Janice carried with her a deep appreciation for home and family throughout her life, even as her sense of adventure led her to embrace new experiences with steady courage and curiosity. A resident of Sandy Springs, Georgia, she will be remembered with lasting affection by all who had the privilege to know her.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Janice was the daughter of Roscoe Jenkins and Idell McGinness Jenkins. In the way she moved through the world—with quiet strength, a generous spirit, and an unfailing warmth—she reflected the values she learned early on: to work diligently, to care sincerely, and to show up for others with kindness.

Janice shared 53 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Norman Alexander, Sr. Together they built a life marked by devotion and steadfast partnership, a bond that endured until his passing in 2012. The love they shared remained a defining part of Janice’s story—one rooted in loyalty, shared purpose, and the simple grace of walking through life side by side.

Those who knew Janice knew her as someone who made time for what mattered. She found joy in skiing, tennis, travel, and boating—pursuits that suited her spirited nature and her willingness to meet life with openhearted enthusiasm. Yet, no matter the destination or activity, her greatest happiness was often found in spending time with family and friends, offering the kind of presence that made others feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.
