

Colonel Jarod “Jerry” Lemoine, age 88, of Marietta, Georgia, died peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2023. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country proudly for 28 years in the United States Army.
Col. Lemoine was born in Bunkie, Louisiana to Charles and Viola Lemoine. Prior to joining the Army as an Ordnance Officer, he attended Louisiana State University where he received a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
Col. Lemoine was a proud and loyal soldier, as well as a loving and dedicated husband and father. He married Helga, of Kitzingen, Germany, on May 22, 1966. They were married for 57 years and blessed with two daughters and five grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife Helga; their daughters, Julie (Bob) and Kathrin (Fred); five grandchildren, Oliver, Phillip, Isabel, Elliot, and Madeline; and his youngest brother, Lee Lemoine. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Col. Lemoine is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Viola Lemoine, his sisters Amy and Olive and his brothers, Charles Jr., Larry, Jennings, Wilbert and Harry.
