Jennie Lee Brown

Jennie Lee Brown, 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all that knew her, passed June 9, 2011. An Atlanta native, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Samuel Brown. Mrs. Brown was born on February 14, 1920, the daughter of Kate Callahan and AJ Shuford. Mrs. Brown was the Secretary to the Principal at North Fulton High School from 1957-1991 when it closed. She then continued at North Atlanta High School until 2002. Mrs. Brown was a loyal, devoted employee for over 43 years. She was a member of the International Order of Masonic Rainbow girls, she was a member of Peachtree Christian Church, where she was involved for years with the bridal guild. A graduate of Commercial High School in 1938, she remained active on the reunion committee until present. Survivors include twin daughters Barbara Morden and Beverly Dreger; grandchildren, Melanie Morden Lindy, Skip Morden, Callahan Morden, Darby Dreger Tracey, Flip Dreger, Brooke Dreger; and 9 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Atlanta, Attn: Carol Cox, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 3 o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 o’clock until the time of service at H. M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Immediately following the service, the family invites you to join them at the Morden Home, 1294 Brooklawn Rd., Atlanta, GA 30319, for a remembrance of her life celebration. Pallbearers will be Skip Morden, Flip Dreger, Callahan Morden, Ira Lindy, Mike Jones and Gil Lindy.
