John Walton Henderson, 91, of Dunwoody, died March 11, 2017. From the humble beginnings of a farm in Tennessee to a decorated World War II veteran to Director of the IRS, John was always a good friend, an advocate for the less fortunate and a community servant. He was loved by many who enjoyed his gentle humor and sensitive heart. He will be missed by us all. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Henderson and is survived by his daughters, Pamela Sue Henderson (Steve), Leah Denise Henderson; grandchildren, Bradley Matthew Lyttle (Torey), Derek Brown, Laura Elizabeth Ware (Jonathan), Adam Arcuragi (Brienne); and 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Adult Day of Dunwoody at www.adultdayofdunwoody.org. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 o’clock with the family receiving friends beginning at 12 o’clock at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, 1548 Mount Vernon Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
