John William Johnston

On Saturday, December 11th, at 11 am, a celebration of the life of John W. Johnston will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mt. Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, Ga. 30338. Mr. Johnston, 89, of Dunwoody, Georgia passed away on December 8th and is survived by his loving wife, Bertie, his daughter and son in law Karyn and Greg Lund of Windermere, Florida, his sons and daughters in law Steve and Barbara Johnston of Bloomfield, Michigan, Craig and Lori Johnston of Johns Creek, Georgia and Bryan and Sara Johnston of Summerlin, Nevada and eleven grandchildren, and was preceded in death by his daughter in law Teri G. Johnston. A decorated WWII combat veteran of the 8th Air Force, 83rd Bomber Wing, Mr. Johnston graduated from Michigan State College and was an executive of General Motors for 37 years. An avid golfer, he was a member of Dunwoody CC where he was past president of the Senior Golfers Association. Mr. Johnston was a member of the All Saints Church Men’s club and also served as president of the GM Retirees Club of Atlanta. A reception will follow the memorial service on Saturday.
