Sorry to be so late in this note.  Just wanted to give a final tribute to  John.  We worked together at IBM for a lot of time and  he was just a great friend.  I know he will be missed greatly by all his family but wanted you to know how much he will be missed by his old IBM friends as well.

The celebration of John's life moved me and the video was so touching. John was such a great story teller and how better to celebrate his life than to listen to him one last time telling the story of his life.  
So many wonderful memories of John. His employees were a second family.  The daily lunches at the IBM cafeteria were always enjoyable!  If you were late, you risked not getting  a seat at the table with "Loconto" as he was effectionately known.  We never  knew what the  topic would be each day and where the conversation would lead us. But we could always count on an interesting story from Loconto!
And then there was Loconto's infamous annual employees Christmas party and his games for choosing the order to swap presents!  
As I write this, I have tears in my eyes, thinking of all the great memories! He was a great individual who touched so many lives and will never be forgotten!

Our neighborhood will not be the same without John.  He was the one everyone turned to when  something needed to be emailed  to all the neighbors.  I served for a couple of years with  John  on our HOA board and he helped to make the meetings so much more entertaining!.  Both Opher and I will miss his humor and good nature.  May his memory forever be a blessing.  

John was a gentleman, friend & represented the best as an IBM employee.  He was from the school of respect, support and highest quality in all of his relationships in and for IBM.  He is missed as a friend and former IBM'er by me and many others.  Our best wishes and warmest sympathy to his family & friends.

John Loconto was just an amazing guy. I worked with him and for him for nearly 20 years in Atlanta. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an excellent management style. May he rest in Everlasting Peace.

So very sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was an outstanding gentleman  and someone who,during my IBM career shred many lunches with We even golfed together several times. John always had. Kind word for everyone and always made you smile. He will be missed by many of his colleagues at IBM. May his soul rest in peace.

I still have fond memories of our Falcon tailgating in the motorhome - Bob and I continued the parties until his passing last August.  My heart goes out to Loretta as I have been thru the same loss .  May your artistic endeavors continue to bring you happiness.

To have lived next door for 10 years, hearing John’s booming laugh from across the drive, sharing yard and garden tips, taking a ride with John in his convertible,  his playing and singing his keyboard compositions - so many memories of a life well-lived. His love for his family was limitless and the caring concern he expressed for me and my sons is a precious memory. I can’t come for the service as I’ll be away but am sending love at this hard time and wishes for comfort.

John V. Loconto passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 with his wife of 57 years, Loretta by his side. John was born June 1, 1943 in Utica, New York, the son of Nicola and Anna (Loparco) Loconto, immigrants from Cisternino, Italy. John attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. Where in 1965 he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics. He joined IBM that same year and settled in Providence, RI., where Loretta joined him after their marriage in 1966. They were blessed with son John Henry in 1967 while he was serving active duty in the Army, Their lovely twin daughters Karen and Michelle arrived in 1970.
