John L. Williams, Jr., age 87, died September 10, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Cathorne; sons, John L. Williams, III and Matthew Williams; daughters, Dorothy Lamb, Rosanne Bullard and Elizabeth Wilkinson. He was born in Asheville, North Carolina and served in the Army Air Force during WWII in England, France and Belgium. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on an air craft carrier. He graduated from Stetson University, DeLand, Florida with a degree in accounting and graduated from Emory University with a law degree. He worked for the Mead Packaging division of the Mead Corporation for more than 30 years, rising to the position of corporate attorney. He was a member of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church for more than 35 years.
The funeral service will be held at Holy Innocents’ on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:00PM with a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a love offering can be made to Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in memory of John L. Williams, Jr. The offerings will be used for the church’s outreach programs.
