Josephine "Jody" Haverty Johnson, 80, died on January 23, 2025. A native of Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Joseph Haverty. She was a graduate of Marymount Junior College and the University of Georgia where she was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the Atlanta Debutante Club, the Atlanta Junior League, the Cathedral of Christ the King, and the Marist Mothers Alumni Prayer Group.
Jody had many interests; but would want to be remembered for the things she loved and considered important: her faith, her family, her friends, and her sense of humor. She felt her goal was to create a happy, loving home and she succeeded.
She is survived by her daughter Cameron Goodsell (Richard) and her precious granddaughters Caroline and Anna Goodsell. She was preceded in death by her son John Haverty Jones (Jack) in 1985, her husband of 44 years - William H. Johnson, and her sisters May Grabbe and Margaret "Teenie" Harland. "Faith, Hope, and Love - the greatest of these is Love."
A funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:00 am with a reception immediately following in Kenny Hall. Jody will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Park.
