Born on September 14, 1958, Kathy was a lifelong Atlanta resident, a proud graduate of the University of Georgia, and above all, Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
After graduating with a master’s degree from UGA, Kathy began her career with Price Waterhouse and later worked for BellSouth. In 1995, she gave birth to quadruplets, an accomplishment she was immensely proud of and one that marked the beginning of the role she cherished most: being a mother.
Kathy shared 38 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Phil. Together, they built a life rooted in family and faith. A devout Catholic, Kathy drew great strength and hope from her faith throughout her life.
She loved the Georgia Bulldogs, her Kappa Alpha Theta sorority sisters, the many dogs that were part of the Coletti family over the years, and spending time on Amelia Island. Whether walking the beach, looking for seashells, or simply enjoying time with the people she loved, Kathy had a gift for appreciating life’s simple pleasures.
More than anything, Kathy will be remembered for her warmth, optimism, and gratitude. She had a remarkable ability to find joy even in difficult times and genuinely believed she was the luckiest person in the world.
She is survived by her husband, Phil; her children, Amelia Michaels (Eddie), Michael (Liz), Mary Elizabeth Macdonald (Riley), and John; her grandchildren, James, Savannah, and George Macdonald; her sister and brothers in law, Cindy, Paul (Sharon), and Mark along with her nieces.
The funeral will be held at 10am on Monday, September 14th at Christ the King Cathedral in Atlanta. A reception will be held at La Grotta following the funeral ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Care of Atlanta and Atlanta Boxer Rescue.
