Kenneth Niemann of Atlanta, GA passed away at the age of 76 on July 14, 2016. He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 54 years, his three children, Randall Niemann, Angela Niemann and Kristin Niemann Lutch and three grandchildren, Daniel, Naomi and Rebekah Niemann, all of Atlanta, GA. Ken was born in Cincinnati, OH, where he attended Green Hills High School. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Kent State University in 1964, and he loved and supported his Alma Mater throughout his life. After graduating from college and obtaining his CPA, he worked for Price Waterhouse and Galbrieth Mortgage in Columbus, OH. In 1974, Ken and his family relocated to Atlanta, GA and he enjoyed a successful career with Days Inn of America as Chief Financial Officer. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, he left Days Inn to venture out on his own and was a respected hotelier, with properties located in Georgia and Florida for more than three decades. He had many philanthropic interests and established a scholarship fund at Kent State. Ken loved to travel, and he and Joyce visited many wonderful places all over the world. He had a lifelong passion for boating and auto racing, and he attended the Indianapolis 500 race every year since 1957. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00am at Dunwoody United Methodist Church located at 1548 Mt. Vernon Road in Dunwoody, GA 30338 (770-394-0675). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to The American Diabetes Association and The Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, organizations important to Ken and his family.
