
Mrs. Lillian Puckett Mitchell, 80, of Dunwoody, Georgia died Saturday, the 17th of November, 2012. A native of Oneonta, Alabama, she graduated from Oneonta High School in 1949. Lillian was a retired admissions officer with Shallowford Hospital and a member of Dunwoody Baptist Church. Her life revolved around her husband, Bill, raising her four sons, and later looking after the grandchildren. She spent countless hours at various athletic venues supporting her family. Lillian was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, and loved a good UGA or Auburn football game. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Bill Mitchell; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, Bob and Barbara Jo Mitchell, Jeff and Cindy Mitchell; grandchildren, Adam, Ben, Sofi, Leia, Stephanie, Andrew, Brooks, and Holly Mitchell; brother, Charles Puckett; and sister, Hazel Boren. Mrs. Mitchell’s wish was to be cremated and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Oneonta, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that a memorial contribution be made in Lillian’s name to the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 1687 Tullie Circle, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 or on-line at www.giving.choa.org.
