Louise White Marcum, born July 12, 1929, passed away on May 27, 2024. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky to B.F. White and Lydia Valentine. She was the middle child of seven. She is predeceased by her parents, her six siblings, her son, Bill Marcum and her husband, William J. Marcum.
Louise had a happy childhood and lead a life in her early years, that was mostly orchestrated by her husband. The family relocated numerous times to various cities but no matter where they lived Louise set a wonderful example of kindness, compassion and adaptability for Bill and Linda. She was stoic in her approach but was always supportive of her husband and children in their pursuits and interests.
She loved animals, reading and enjoyed long walks and exercise. She moved to Campbell-Stone Sandy Springs in 2006 where she made friends and enjoyed Bridge, Pokeno, walking at the mall, Tai Chi, Yoga and all the other exercise classes offered there. She also worked at the gift shop. For a while she volunteered at the Red Cross but found she could stay quite busy at her facility.
After some illness in 2023, she moved to Sunrise East Cobb and adapted well there, enjoying the residents and the staff. She was amazingly resilient through all of her life’s ups and downs. Her attitude was always positive and she had a determination to be admired. She didn’t talk a lot but she listened well and was known for her great hugs.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Friedman , son-in-law Michael, a wonderful family that consist of two lovely Granddaughters, Leslie Landau (David), Marci Suddeth (Brent) and Five beautiful Great grandchildren, Scott Landau, Rachel Landau, Shayna Suddeth, Eli Suddeth and Lila Suddeth. She has numerous nephews and nieces that she leaves.
We thank all those friends and staff at Sunrise and Campbell-Stone who provided love and support to our sweet Mom.
