Louise Smith Walding, 80, of Atlanta, went home to be with The Lord on April 10, 2011. Louise was born in Portal, GA and raised in Savannah, GA. She graduated from The University of Florida. During her adult life Louise lived in Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, and Destin, FL. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph D. Walding; son and daughter-in-law, Guy and Susan Walding; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Fletcher Shackelford; grandchildren, Charlie Shackelford, Grason Shackelford, Wesley Shackelford; and sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Madden Reid. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to First Baptist Church of Atlanta, 4400 North Peachtree Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338. Funeral services will be TODAY, April 12, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
