Lynn B. Dunn, 67, passed away during the early hours of Friday, the 14th of September, 2018 in the comfort of her own home in Atlanta, Georgia. Known as a dedicated community leader, a passionate best friend, the loving “Aunt Bub,” or as a diligent co-worker, Lynn Dunn was, regardless of these labels, an angel and light in the lives of everyone who was blessed to know her.
Growing up in Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania, a moment never passed where Lynn Dunn did not have friends, classmates, and her loving siblings, Rich and Robbie, gravitating towards her. She graduated from Briarcliff College, a prestigious all-women’s college in New York, enjoying the culture of New York City every weekend. She went on to be an esteemed Sales Manager for General Electric (GE) Healthcare, guiding the torch towards the world of high-tech healthcare technology. Later in life, Lynn Dunn worked with the Sandy Springs Society, organizing fundraising events and coordinating large social gatherings that greatly impacted the city she called home. Most importantly, she was a sister, an aunt, and a friend - a light in the lives of everyone who knew her.
But what made her so special? What made her my loving, kind, and beautiful Bub? It was the way her eyes twinkled when she spoke, the brilliant smile that spread like wildfire through a room, and the laugh that could light up any moment. It was her dedication to learning more about the world, her intellectual curiosity, and her generosity which extended to everyone in her life. It was her love of art, desire to travel to every corner of the globe, and the feeling one would feel in her presence. It was her contagious joy and gorgeousness inside and out.
As she ascends into heaven, she leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and beauty. There is a new star in the night sky, a new blooming flower in every garden, and a new guardian angel calling heaven her forever home. We will love and miss you, Bub.
Memorial Services celebrating Lynn's life will be conducted on Friday, the 21st of September at twelve o'clock in the afternoon at H.M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
