Margaret M. Foster

Margaret (Peggy) Mahorner Foster, a resident of Roswell, Ga passed away on July 28, 2026 surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was 92 years young.

Peggy was born in Washington, DC on December 26, 1933. She attended Blessed Sacrament High School and then Trinity College, where she earned a degree in English.

She married the love of her life, John Arthur Hart Foster on June 11, 1955. Soon after, the house became a home of love, laughter and chaos as it filled with their 10 children. Peggy considered being the mother to her children as her greatest achievement in life. She celebrated every milestone, offered comfort through every challenge, and lived each day with grace, warmth and selfless love. Peggy had an infectious smile, a generous heart, and a gift for making every person who crossed her path feel like family. She created a home where everyone was welcomed.

Peggy was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She was an active parishioner at Resurrection Church in Miramar Beach, Fl. Where she was a daily communicant, lector and Eucharistic minister. She volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital in Miramar Beach and dedicated more than 15 years to the Christ Child Society, serving others with compassion and humility.

Peggy loved to travel, play bridge and read books. She went on many trips with her church to religious sites; Rome, Jerusalem, Medjugorje and Fatima. She treasured her friendships reaching out to catch up with each of them on a frequent basis, especially Nancy Giffin whose gift of friendship spanned over 70 years and Jean Eisel, who assisted in her care while family members were away.

Peggy is survived by nine of her children: John Kevin Foster (Christine), Kathleen Foster Coghlan (Mike), Brian Joseph Foster, Matthias Mahorner Foster (Patricia), Marianne Glennon Foster, Daniel Fitzgerald Foster (Chrissie), Christopher Hart Foster (Linda), James Jerome Foster (Lisa) and Megan Foster McGowan (Kevin), along with 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Though she will be greatly missed, Peggy’s legacy of love, kindness and faith will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christ Child Society.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 25th, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek, with a reception to follow.
