Marie played piano from a very young age, liked ballroom dancing, reading, learning new things, traveling with her husband Bill Naylor, enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grand children, and especially liked playing Rummy 500 with her children until just a few months ago.
Marie was born, Betty Marie Johnson on April 30th, 1927 in Sweet Apple, Ga, next youngest of 12 children.
She married Vincie Rabern and raised 3 children in Roswell, Georgia.
Marie and her sister, Elsie, married brothers.
She was assistant city clerk of Roswell, became a dental assistant and later Supervisor of Dental Assistants at Emory University Dental School. During that period she studied very hard and became a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Marie was a pianist at her church for many years and, also played for several southern gospel groups. She was both The Grand ORganist and Assistant Grand Organist for The Order of the Eastern Star for the state of Georgia. During the Christmas holidays she often played at Bullock Hall in Roswell. Marie was beloved by family and friends, and she was well known for her graciousness and charm.
Marie is preceded in death by her son, Dwight Rabern; husband, Vince Rabern; husband, William T. Naylor; her mother & father; six brothers & four sisters.
Marie is survived by her sister, Elsie Rabern; son Jeff Rabern (Melissa); daughter, Linda Rabern Coble (Joe); grandson, Jon Grace (Rebecca); great-granddaughter, Evie; great-grandson, Finn; grandson, Brent Rabern; great-grandson, Kade Rabern; great-granddaughter, Carley Rabern; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, at 2:30pm with a visitation preceding at 1:30pm at H.M. Patterson & Son - Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road NE, Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328
