A graduate of North Fulton High School, Mary pursued her passion for caring for others by attending nursing school. Known for her warmth and generosity, Mary had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued. She found immense joy in cooking and spent countless hours watching cooking shows for inspiration, bringing creativity and love to her meals. She was also an avid reader, treasuring the written word and the knowledge it brought her.
Mary had a remarkable talent for recalling dates and events from decades past, often leaving family and friends in awe of her memory. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation. Her dedication to helping others was most evident through her volunteer work at the Atlanta Soup Kitchen, where she was affectionately known as "the Iced Tea Lady" for her unwavering commitment to making sure every guest felt cared for with a refreshing drink and her gentle kindness.
Her generosity extended far beyond the church. Mary often made sandwiches at home and drove through the city, seeking out anyone in need of a meal and a kind word. She lived her faith daily, embodying compassion, humility, and a deep sense of service to others.
Mary is survived by her sister, Charlene Limberis, and her nephews and nieces, Laurie, Chuckie, and Michael ; as well as her brother, William Charles Moore, and her niece, Michelle Laurilla. She has many great nieces and nephews and cousins who will miss her so. She will be especially missed by her best friend and confidant Gina Dixon.
Mary's giving spirit, strong faith, and boundless kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May her memory be eternal.
